ASSISTANCE TO THE DISABLED
Over the last decade the Order's French Hospitaller Works have particularly stepped up their assistance to the disabled.
A Specialised Home for the Disabled (S.H.D.) has been created, a residence for autistic people in Rochefort sur Mer, and a Nursing Home in Vigneux sur Seine.
The Roquetaillade Functional Rehabilitation Centre in Montégut di Auch has also been modernised and provided with new equipment.

Inaugurated in 1985, the "Saint-Jean de Jérusalem" S.H.D. has rooms for 40 severely disabled people, often associated with one or more secondary disturbances. It offers residents support, suitable activities and constant rehabilitation, so that everyone can enjoy a social and cultural life. This was made possible not only by a structure especially studied to offer an opportunity for personal expression and development but also thanks to an interdisciplinary approach, with medical, paramedica and rehabilitation personnel flanked by teams providing medical and psychological help.
The Residence for Autistic Adults has recently opened its doors to take in 12 people.
