THE GRAND CHANCELLOR OF THE ORDER OF MALTA
INAUGURATES HAEMODIALYSIS CENTRE IN THE
SEYCHELLES
Seychelles, 13 March 2001
The official visit of the Grand Chancellor of the
Order Count Carlo Marullo di Condojanni to the
Seychelles provided the opportunity of inaugurating
the Haemodialysis Centre at the Victoria Hospital,
which was built with the contribution of the Order,
who also donated two ambulances.
The unveiling of the commemoration plaque at the
hospital was attended by the Ambassador of the Order
of Malta to the Seychelles, Dr. Antonio Spada, and
by the Secretaries-General of the Ministry of Health,
Mme Marie Ange Hoareau, and the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, M. Alain Buttler-Payette.
During the ceremony the Grand Chancellor noted that
the Centre was “the symbol of the cooperation
between the Order of Malta and the Government of the
Seychelles” and that the two ambulances donated
“will contribute to the improvement of public health
services”.
The Grand Chancellor had expressed his appreciation
of this commitment at a previous meeting with the
Head of State of the Seychelles, M. France Albert
René, during which he stressed the need to
strengthen cooperation to create a sound health-care
service.
